A night in the summer

A fantastic panoramic of the Milky Way, taken one night this summer, during a stay in the mountains. All credits to the great astrophotographer Juan Carlos Casado.

Learning q-learning

This is a little demo three friends and me implemented during the last year of ESO, as part of the year-long research project that allowed us to delve into some field of interest. We chose artificial intelligence and free software, and developed two demonstrations of basic AI techniques; self-driving car in 2D, and individual character recognition (0-9).

A write-up about the method used in this demo (Q-learning) will follow hopefully soon.

Steam sales

And so it had to happen. The 15.6 euros that remain have eyes on Skyrim (legalizing it once and for all) and STALKER. Let's just be patient now.

Failed attempt of the 22nd fugue (WTC I)

A video from a few months ago, trying to learn the 22nd fugue in B-flat minor from Das Wohltemperierte Klavier I.

Far from finishing it, I had great fun anyways. Forgive the bad sound quality (I will eventually record the sound of the piano straight to the computer), and of course, the abundant amount of errors.

(Light) Anatomical studies #1

Yes, that skull is not right.

Trying to reconcile with anatomy. Enough hiding hands in pockets; my quasi-human creatures shall soon (oh, such a delusional fool I am) wear them pridefully!

Oh, and happy holidays.

Summer stroll through the forest

Pictures from a nice summer stroll through the forest, a few months ago, in Parc Natural de Gualba, trying to work out how to handle the reflex camera.
I've done minor brightness/contrast corrections with GIMP, but keeping alterations to a minimum helps maintain the inherent (and desired) naturality of the shots.

LaTeX in Blogger (through MathJax)

Trying out $LaTeX$:

Function $\phi$ is an isomorphism $\phi : G \to H$ between groups $(G, *)$ and $(H, +)$ if it's bijective and $\phi(a*b) = \phi(a)+\phi(b)$.

For further reference, just add this to the template <header>:
